Getting started
Organisations and projects
Section titled “Organisations and projects”Commelia is organised in two levels:
- An organisation is your association or institution. It has one plan and one team.
- A project is one support offer, such as a parent helpline or a patient group. Each project has its own chat widget, branding, channels, AI settings and team.
When you sign up, you name your organisation and its first project. You can add more projects later under Settings → Projects, as far as your plan allows.
Owners delete a project under Project settings → General. It stops working right away and appears under Deleted projects on the projects page, where owners can restore it for 30 days. After that it is deleted permanently with all its conversations.
Owners can delete the organisation at the bottom of Settings → Plan & billing by typing its name. Access ends immediately for the team, the chat widget, all channels and the API. All data is deleted permanently 30 days later; until then the Commelia team can restore it on request.
| Role | Can do |
|---|---|
| Owner | Everything in the organisation: plan, team, all projects. Owners act as managers of every project. |
| Member | Works in the projects they are given access to. |
| Manager (per project) | Changes the project’s settings, knowledge base, routing rules and sees its reports. |
| Agent (per project) | Answers conversations in the project. |
Invite people under Settings → Team. Each team member uses one seat of your plan.
First steps
Section titled “First steps”- Invite your team under Settings → Team and choose which projects each person works on.
- Create groups such as “1st level” or “Peer experts” under Settings → Groups (see Groups & routing rules).
- Embed the chat on your website: copy the snippet from Project settings → Widget (see Web chat widget).
- Brief the assistant under Project settings → AI, if you want to use AI (see AI assistant).
- Optionally connect email and WhatsApp.
Security for your team
Section titled “Security for your team”Every team member can switch on two-factor authentication (an authenticator app) under My profile. We recommend it for everyone who reads sensitive conversations. Signing in also works with a magic link sent by email.
